12" LX-200 Meade Schmidt Cassegrain

The 12" LX-200 is our best general purpose scope. Used for everything from solar to planetary viewing the LX-200 is a real workhorse. With computer go-to the LX-200 can auto find objects for observing, making it an attractive scope for newcomers as well as experienced users. The LX-200 is also used for CCD imaging with our CCD camera. We purchased our 12" LX-200 new in 1994 and have been happy with it. The dome that houses the 12" LX-200 is by Observa-DOME Laboratories, Inc. of Jackson Mississippi. Observa-DOME donated the dome to the observatory in late 1985. By early 1986 the new building and dome were in place, making it the second building on the hill.
